Prompt: Tell us something about your favorite childhood meal.
Twist: Tell the story in your own distinct voice.
Where do I even begin? My mother is a fantastic cook! We even used to pick on her telling her to open up a “Debbie’s Diner”! I believe her specialty is Italian cuisine. I will mention her spaghetti and lasagna are to die for. But that’s not what I want to focus on. What I want to share is when she decided to try something new. Now whenever she mentions it we all jump up and down in joy! It’s a special occasion now that takes prep and time.
I don’t remember why she tried this, I don’t remember what made her thing about giving it a shot but I’m glad she did because she makes one hell of a pizza! It takes some serious planning, usually we’ll do it on a Sunday! She will get a list of the ingredients and then prepare the dough. I’m always first since I’m boring and usually go with only peperoni. Then we’ll cook them in the oven. She moves it to the boiler, says this is the key to a perfect crust. We will always have soda available sit ourselves down and indulge in the delicious pizza. It was heavenly!
